Senior Manager, IT

What we offer

As Senior Manager, Information Technology, you will lead the IT function for SAMI’s manufacturing divisions. This strategic and tactical role combines people leadership, operational excellence, and technology innovation. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders at SAMI’s sister companies, third-party vendors, and executive leadership to drive systems optimization, hardware installation/maintenance, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

  • Design and maintain the IT infrastructure for SAMI’s GTA facility (networking, server room, team hardware, etc.)
  • Assess and recommend hardware and infrastructure solutions based on business needs and vendor specifications.
  • Support the assessment, selection, and implementation of a variety of process and planning tools (e.g. ERP)
  • Develop and manage technology delivery plans (e.g. onboarding, refresh cycles, training).
  • Leverage current infrastructure, processes, etc. from strategic partner organizations, where applicable.
  • Collaborate with technology leadership to anticipate and address current and future gaps in infrastructure or service; create processes to evaluate and respond to evolving business needs, including issue resolution and user training.
  • Leverage data and automation to improve efficiency and reliability of IT services.
  • Establish and track productivity metrics and service delivery KPIs.
  • In collaboration with the Head of Technology, design IT processes including, but not limited to: incident & problem management, root cause analysis, after-hours case management
  • Build, develop, and lead a team delivering IT services to manufacturing divisions, with primary support for our GTA facility.
  • Represent business priorities when coordinating with external IT partners and shared service teams.
  • Partner with stakeholders to lead value improvement initiatives and change management efforts.
  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders to design and enhance new hire onboarding.
    Evaluate training methods, tailor learning solutions to individual needs, and implement adoption metrics to measure impact.
  • Support successful implementation of new IT initiatives by proactively managing risks, timelines, and communications.
  • Test and document new professional services tools and offerings.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of IT experience, with 4+ years in a leadership role.
  • 3+ years managing hybrid (on-prem and cloud) environments supporting high-availability or mission-critical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess infrastructure requirements (e.g. database, storage, compute), translate them into technical specifications, and source appropriate on-prem or cloud-based solutions from vendors (e.g. Dell, AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, SSL).
  • A detail-oriented, analytical mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead and mentor a team while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Head of Finance

    What we offer

    The Head of Finance is a highly skilled and strategic individual that will be responsible for leading all elements of the finance function, reporting directly to the General Manager. The successful individual will be getting into the weeds on all financial elements required for our start-up to succeed, including, but not limited to, developing annual financial plans and budgets, financial modelling, forecasting performance, setting up financial processes and systems, and conducting analysis to support decision-making and identifying areas for improvement. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the General Manager and Mattamy Asset Management’s Finance team on the establishment of a strong and healthy finance function for the new business. The ideal candidate is inquisitive and detail-oriented, has experience in manufacturing environments, and has a strong background in cost accounting, financial accounting, and FP&A.

    What you’ll do

    • Lead the company’s long term Financial Planning, annual budget cycle, monthly reporting and cashflow forecasting process as well as stress testing assumptions while working directly with all business segments to produce high quality plans
    • Prepare dynamic financial models, reports, and presentations to support data-driven recommendations, including performing business case and trade-off analysis related to new business initiatives, manufacturing costs, inventory, and other expenses
    • Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs. Analyze actual production costs and prepare periodic reports comparing projected to actual production costs
    • Develop, implement, and maintain the chart of accounts and master data hierarchies in alignment with Mattamy Asset Management
    • Develop, implement, and maintain accurate costing methodology
    • Foster strong working relationships across all business segments, and successfully develop direct reports
    • Assist with the creation of KPI’s that SAMI can leverage for better budgeting and forecasting; creation of corresponding dashboards for key KPI’s for department heads, finance, and other decision makers
    • Analyze and identify trends in key performance drivers and oversee monthly variance analysis processes, including communication with corporate stakeholders and follow-ups with division owners
    • Full accounting ownership, with particular focus on month-end close activities related to cost accounting, including but not limited to department expense variances (actual to budgets/forecasts), monthly revenues and associated gross margin analysis while focusing on tools and training to make the process more efficient
    • In collaboration with MAM Finance leaders, advise on technical accounting matters and the implementation of policy change divisionally and company-wide. Advise on accounting and system impacts of new operations, legal entity restructuring, or complex accounting issues
    • Responsible for oversight of bank compliance reporting in conjunction with the MAM Treasury group.
    • Support the General Manager and Director of Supply Chain with the Procure-to-Pay process.
    • Provide support and/or lead special/strategic projects
    • Other duties as required

    What you bring

    • University Degree, with a specialization in Finance or Accounting
    • CPA Designation
    • 8+ years of experience with increasing responsibility, including 2+ years of people leadership
    • Strong background in cost accounting, financial modelling and planning, with a track record and orientation towards continuous improvement
    • Strong understanding of cash flow forecasting, ability to create cash flow models that incorporate intelligent forecasting methodologies including identifying drivers in the operations to improve cash and capital returns
    • Strong customer focus with excellent relationship building and a collaborative working style
    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
    • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and mentor a team while fostering a positive and inclusive culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
    • Ability to be hands-on and detail oriented, but also able to think strategically

    Manufacturing Engineer

    What you’ll do

    • Develop Standard Operating Procedures, conduct time studies, and determine labor requirements for new processes.

    • Lead root cause analyses and collaborate with safety, quality, production, maintenance, product design, and sustainability teams to implement corrective actions.

    Product Design Associate

    What we offer

    The Product Design Associate will work closely with senior team members to coordinate and detail standardized modular units and pre-fabricated wall-and-floor systems using Revit. This role will support product development for SAMI’s emerging Panel and Modular businesses, collaborating with key members of the SAMI team, as well as stakeholders from Mattamy Homes Canada. This role will ensure design models stay accurate, coordinated, and production-ready as we scale our product and manufacturing capabilities. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and highly organized with prior exposure to panelization or CNC-driven production workflows.

    What you’ll do

    • Optimize modular designs as well as designs for manufacturing through value engineering, balancing cost, structural, acoustic, and thermal performance.
    • Collaborate with procurement to evaluate pricing, lead times, and alternate material options. Perform trade-off analysis on alternate options and present business cases to support analysis.
    • Build and maintain Revit models for modular units and prefabricated wall and floor systems
    • Generate views, annotations, and schedules to support testing, fabrication, procurement, and engineering coordination
    • Track design decisions and model updates across product iterations
    • Coordinate with vendors to integrate product specifications and material data
    • Maintain internal libraries with dimensions, performance values, and compliance attributes
    • Address any design-related issues that arise during the manufacturing and construction processes.
    • Stay up to date on industry trends, materials, and best practices to inform design decisions and ensure competitive advantage.
    • Monitor, coordinate, and manage design work by consultants and any other relevant stakeholders (i.e. structural, architectural, MEP, HVAC, etc.) as appropriate.

    What you bring

    • Post-secondary education in Architectural Technology, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, Sustainable Building Engineering or a related field.
    • 1-3 years of experience evaluating materials, value engineering, and optimizing the performance of construction products.
    • Interest in modular/prefabricated construction, with an eagerness to learn.
    • Understanding of design process and key components involved, including structural, architectural, and MEP considerations.
    • Excellent knowledge of design software (i.e. Revit, CAD, Bluebeam).
    • Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate consultants and colleagues.

    Vice President, Cabinetry & Millwork
